Our 2017 Ckaos Calendar has been hitting the streets, and desks, with our 'Where's the Ckaos' series. September's image is courtesy of Alethea.
So, what's been happening in (and out) of the studio...
Studio visitors
There were some very special fluffy visitors in the studio last month — Gatsby and Daisy popped in to say hi! Gatsby was put to work on phone duty...
Praise You!
Laura recently took a short trip up to sunny Sydney to support her awesome friend Amy Clemens, who is part of the Praise You exhibition. It’s a body of work with the power to make a difference. The artists have joined forces to educate, inform and challenge the accepted ideas of body image and comparison, by appreciating and empowering all elements of the female form through visual art, to increase awareness of the impact of body image in today’s society. Praise You is proud to support The Butterfly Foundation
Alethea's finally sorted her Europe photos!
So Alethea's been back in the studio for three months from her trip through London, Paris, Switzerland, Spain and Italy — and has only just managed to sort out her gazillion photos and share them with us! We especially love her Maria Von Trapp photo, albeit in the Swiss Alps.
Who is Bald Archie?
Laura took advantage of her time in Sydney to visit the Archibald, Wynne and Sulman Prize exhibitions at The Art Gallery of NSW. The Archibald Prize, first awarded in 1921, is Australia’s favourite art award and one of its most prestigious. Awarded to the best portrait painting, it’s a who’s who of Australian culture — from politicians to celebrities, sporting heroes to artists. The Wynne Prize is awarded to the best landscape painting of Australian scenery or figure sculpture, while the Sulman Prize is given to the best subject painting, genre painting or mural project in oil, acrylic, watercolour or mixed media.
